Since childhood, fashion and art have always been a significant part of Erika’s life. In third grade she wrote to Esprit and declared her undying love for them and wrote that she wanted to work for them when “she grew up”. Erika took the first steps in pursuing her dreams by studying fashion at Philadelphia University (Philadelphia, PA) and Accademia Italiana (Florence, Italy). After college, Erika moved west to pursue her career in fashion. She sought the individuality, freedom, and magic of fashion in Hollywood.
Erika’s first job was at Baby Phat, the sister company to Phat Farm. She was hired at Baby Phat in 2000, and the Vice President and she formed a two person team that essentially created and nurtured the entire foundation of the line as seen today. After 5 years of helping to grow and refine the Baby Phat collections, she decided to pursue different avenues in the fashion industry, but the vast body of work she produced at Baby Phat remains as one of her proudest achievements.
Erika’s expertise stems from her working relationships with such well known fashion names as Betsey Johnson, Nanette Lepore, Baby Phat, Todd Oldham TO2, Jet Lag, Ed Hardy and Boy George’s fashion line B-Rude. Most recently, she collaborated with the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas on their renovation with the Morgan Group, under her former private label company, Trinity Design Group.
Always innovative, Erika decided to form her own edgy clothing line, 7 Wcked Vrtues. This contemporary clothing line captures the essence of Erika’s beliefs. It is about self expression and transforming oneself through clothing.
Erika’s goal, being the progressive liberated female she is, is to open a chain of independent health clinics that specialize in gratuitous std testing.
